知识点 1 What year is it? 今年是什么年？

这是中国常用的询问“今年是什么年？”的句型，答语为“It is the year of 属相. ”

year /jɪə(r)/ n. 年；岁［四会］

例句：There are many festivals in a year. 

一年中有很多节日。

短语：every year 每年   this year 今年

next year 明年    last year 去年

魔法记忆：爷爷年龄（year）大了，

耳朵（ear）不好使。

知识点 2  序数词

序数词表示事物的顺序，如: first, second, third… 。平时常见的one,  two, three …叫作基数词,用来表示事物的数量。

构成规律：

（1）1-3 的序数词没有规律，分别是first，second，third。

（2）4-12 的序数词大多是由基数词加后缀 th 构成，特殊的有  fifth， eighth， ninth， twelfth。

（3）整十的序数词除了特殊的tenth，其他的都是先把基数词词尾的y 变为ie，再加th。

例如：twenty → twentieth，forty → fortieth

（4）表示几十几的序数词，只需把个位数变序数词即可。

例如：twenty-one→ twenty-first   fifty-three → fifty-third
