Language Points

1. It’s not far from my home.

它离我家不远。

far from 离……远

例：My home is far from my school, so I go to school by bus every day.

我家离学校很远，所以我每天乘公共汽车去上学。

2.It’s about twenty minutes’ walk from my home. 

它从我家大约步行20分钟。 

twenty minutes’ 意为“20分钟的……”, 是名词的所有格形式。

名词所有格在名词后加“’s”, 表示 “……的”，如Li Ming’s book 李明的书，Lucy’s skirt 露西的裙子；如果名词以-s结尾，则直接加“’”，如教师节 Teachers’ Day。

例：These are the two brothers’books.

这是两兄弟的书。

3.I like pandas best.  我最喜欢熊猫。

like…best 最喜欢，可以和favourite句型互换，如：

I like yellow best of all the colours.

=My favourite colour is yellow.

我最喜欢黄色。
