①两者表示“考虑，对……有某种看法”时，可互换使用。

eg：They are thinking about/of buying a new car.他们正在考虑买一辆新车。

②think of表示“想到，想起”等意义时，不能与think about互换。

eg：Who thought of the idea？谁想到的那个主意？

I can’t think of his name.我想不起他的名字。
