②intend用作及物动词，意为“建议；主张”时，其后接宾语从句。

eg：I intended that he should do it at once.我建议他应该立即做这件事。

I hope so.我希望如此。表示肯定的希望，其中so代表上文所提到的事情，意为“我希望如此”。
