Today is my grandma’s birthday.

今天是我奶奶的生日。

该句的结构是“主语(时间)＋系动词be＋表语”。

当表示时间的名词如today，tomorrow(明天)或

tonight(今天晚上)作主语时，可以用it来替换。

eg：Today  is my son’s birthday.＝It is my son’s

birthday today.今天是我儿子的生日。

birthday可以作定语修饰另一个名词，不必用所有格形式。

eg：a birthday cake一个生日蛋糕

a birthday party 一个生日聚会

birthday presents生日礼物

set/set/v.摆放(餐具)；放置；落下。 set 的现在分词为setting。

set the table意为“摆放餐具” 。

eg：Please set the chair in the corner.

请把椅子放在角落里。

My grandpa，my father and Uncle Fred are talking and laughing.我爷爷、爸爸和叔叔弗雷德正在说笑。

句中有两个and，均为并列连词。第一个and连接几个并列的名词作主语，因此句子的谓语动词用复数形式。第二个and连接两个动词的现在分词形式。
