receive/rɪ’siːv/  v.收到；接到

eg：Did you receive my presents on your birthday?

你在生日那天收到我的礼物了吗？

receive sth . from sb . 意为“从某人处收到某物”。   

eg：He received an award for bravery from the police service . 

他以其勇敢行为受到警务部门的嘉奖。

辨析：receive与accept

receive表示收到别人给予的东西，不含有收到人是否愿意接受的意思，是客观上的“收到”。

She received a letter from her father . 

她收到了她父亲的一封信。

accept强调愿意接受，是主观上的“接受”。

I can’t accept an excuse like that . 

我无法接受那样的一个借口。

昨天我接到一份参加晚会的邀请，但我拒绝接受。
